Ashlee Nicole Simpson is a quote-unquote singer, songwriter, and actress. She is the younger sister of Jessica Simpson, and rose to prominence in mid-2004 through the success of her debut album, Autobiography and the accompanying reality series The Ashlee Simpson Show.
Ashlee Simpson received widespread criticism when she used a pre-recorded vocal track on Saturday Night Live in October 2004. Yet it did not stop people from purchasing her $h!t. Following a North American tour, Ashley released a second number-one album, I Am Me, in 2005. Her third album, Bittersweet World, is scheduled for release in March 2008.
In June 2006, it was reported that Simpson seriously considered but turned down a $4 million offer to pose nude for Playboy. In early September 2006, Simpson and boyfriend Braxton Olita, who was a member of her band on tour, broke up. Ashlee Simpson then began dating Fall Out Boy bassist Pete Wentz, and they have been together ever since. He is managed and pimped by her father, Joe Simpson.
