Keith Lionel Urban is a Grammy Award-winning country singer and guitarist. Two of his albums, Be Here (2004) and his latest, Love, Pain & the Whole Crazy Thing (2006), have reached the Top 10 on the U.S.
He has scored seven #1 songs in the U.S. to date and a total of 16 top ten hits, including "Somebody Like You," "You'll Think of Me," "Days Go By," "Making Memories of Us," "Stupid Boy," and "Better Life."
Keith was born in Whangarei, New Zealand, and later moved with his parents to Caboolture, Queensland, Australia. As a boy he was already thinking about getting into the music business and making his mark in Nashville.
Despite his many successful albums and songs, Keith Urban has battled substance abuse problems for much of his career.
Urban met Australian actress Nicole Kidman at G'Day LA, a Hollywood event honouring Australians, in January 2005 but they didn't begin dating until six months later. Kidman and Urban were married June 25, 2006, in Sydney.
