Via Sattelite, Amy Winehouse Owns Grammy Awards

It was Amy Winehouse’s night, and it was about the music.

The British R&B / soul singer pulled off a near sweep at the 50th annual Grammy Awards Sunday, scoring five honors including record of the year, song of the year and best new artist, while performing via satellite in London.

Amy Winehouse won all the night’s top awards, except album of the year, which went to Herbie Hancock for River: The Joni Letters.

The 24-year-old recently saw her rise to music success overshadowed by a battle with drug and alcohol abuse. She has been in rehab and received a visa to attend the Grammy Awards, but too late for her to attend the ceremony.

Sunday night, however, brought the focus back onto Winehouse’s talent and her terrific breakthrough album, Back to Black, and its hit single “Rehab.”

In an emotional acceptance speech via satellite in London after she sang “You Know That I’m No Good” and “Rehab,” Winehouse, thanked her producer Mark Ronso, her mother and father, and her husband Blake Fielder-Civil.

“To my Blake, my Blake incarcerated,” Winehouse said.

Blake Fielder-Civil, 25, is currently awaiting trial in a London jail on charges of assault and witness tampering.

Amy Winehouse Denied Visa; Grammy Awards Out

Amy Winehouse will not be performing at this year’s Grammys because her request for a visa has been turned down by the United States.

Think this has anything to do with her repeated drug problems? That video of her apparently smoking crack could not have helped matters.

The Outside Organization, which reps Amy, issued this statement:

“Amy has been progressing well since entering a rehabilitation clinic two weeks ago and although disappointed with the decision has accepted the ruling and will be concentrating on recovery.”

Visa Denied

Amy Winehouse shot to fame with the autobiographical single “Rehab.”

The 24-year-old and her acclaimed Back to Black album are nominated in six categories for at the Grammy Awards in Los Angeles on Sunday.

Her potent blend of blues, jazz, pop and soul has won praise from critics and fans, but Winehouse has become as famous for her chaotic personal lifer.

Since the album’s U.S. release last year, Amy Winehouse has canceled a slew of appearances amid meltdowns and reports of drug and alcohol use.

Cops Question Amy Winehouse on Crack Smoking Video

Amy Winehouse has reportedly been interviewed by police regarding the recent video that surfaced online of the singer allegedly smoking crack.

As previously reported, Winehouse was filmed allegedly smoking crack and other drugs, with the video being released online by UK newspaper The Sun.

A spokesperson for Scotland Yard - which does not name suspects or people being questioned in connection with crimes unless they have been formally charged - confirmed that a 24 year-old female was interviewed recently.

Winehouse, Amy

Specifically, the unnamed individual was brought in for questioning in relation to unlawful possession of a controlled drug, the BBC reports.

Amy Winehouse, who is married to Blake Fielder-Civil, who is being held without bond on charges of assault and witness tampering, has not been arrested in connection with the video. Police say inquiries were continuing.

The Back to Black singer is in rehab battling drug and alcohol addiction after a rough period that had even her own family fearing the worst.

Amy Winehouse’s Mother Fears the Worst

Amy Winehouse’s mother, Janis Winehouse, is prepping for the worst for her troubled daughter, in the midst of a drug-induced downward spiral.

“I’ve already come to terms with her dead,” she tells the UK’s The Mirror. “I’ve steeled myself to ask her what ground she wants to be buried in, which cemetery. Because the drugs will get her if she stays on this road.”

Burnout

Amy Winehouse, 24, checked into rehab last Thursday after British tabloid The Sun released a video of her apparently smoking crack.

“I’ve known for a long time that Amy has problems,” Janis said. “But seeing it on screen truly rammed it home. She could be dead within the year.”

Janis said her daughter will be honored at next month’s Grammy Awards, “but part of me thinks she won’t be alive by then.”

“I look at Heath Ledger and Britney Spears. She’s on their path. It’s like watching a car crash - a person throwing all these gifts away.”

Amy Winehouse: Not in Rehab After All

Contrary to numerous published reports, Amy Winehouse did not enter rehab yesterday, and was merely visiting a doctor she has been seeing regularly.

Meanwhile, officers from Scotland Yard have confirmed that they will investigate the video footage of Amy Winehouse apparently smoking crack out of a pipe.

Not in Rehab Now

Amy Winehouse was thought to be in rehab… but isn’t.

“We will assess the footage to ascertain whether any action needs to be taken,” a police official said of the disturbing footage, which was reportedly shot recently.

Video of Amy Winehouse Smoking Crack Surfaces

Somebody needs a trip to “Rehab.” Or several.

Nothing Amy Winehouse does is that shocking, but… a video of her smoking crack? And we thought the bar couldn’t be lowered any further.

In the tape, obtained by The Sun (U.K.), the Grammy-nominated singer admits to taking “six valium a day” before lighting up a crack pipe. Amy Winehouse “took hit after hit of drugs after a 19-minute binge in which she snorted crack, ecstasy and cocaine,” before going to her husband’s court hearing. Yikes.

Amy on Crack!?

And so the Amy Winehouse free-fall continues.

Blake Fielder-Civil, her troubled husband of nearly a year, is being held without bail on charges that he tried to tamper with and bribe a material witness in an assault case that was already pending against him.

In the past two weeks, Amy has partied with record producer Mark Ronson and her ex, George Roberts, fueling speculation that she and Fielder-Civil are on the rocks. Others say she, Ronson and Roberts are “Just Friends.”

UPDATE: Here’s the alleged video of Amy smoking crack …

Where will the Amy Winehouse express roll to next? Stay tuned.

Amy Winehouse Vacations with George Roberts!?

Amy Winehouse’s jailed husband, Blake Fielder-Civil, is not happy that she fled to the Caribbean with her ex-boyfriend, George Roberts (below, in an older picture of the couple). Lonely Blake wants an explanation.

Rightfully so! Then again, he did get arrested for assault, then try to bribe his way out of it by and get a witness the hell out of England.

Amy Winehouse, George Roberts

Amy Winehouse and George Roberts used to date. This gentleman seems quite normal compared to Blake Fielder-Civil - Amy’s husband since early 2007.

Winehouse is nominated for six Grammys. She is determined to attend make the ceremony. Just hope she doesn’t get locked up again beforehand.

Although if she were to be imprisoned, at least that would probably lead to some great new Amy Winehouse lyrics. Great inspiration!

Amy Winehouse to Renew Vows… in Jail

Sure, it sounds ridiculous, but most things do it you’re Amy Winehouse, so why not renew your wedding vows to your husband? (Of less than a year.) (In jail.)

The relentlessly embattled singer is taking a break from her Caribbean vacation to prove once again that she is 100 percent, completely consumed by her love for Blake Fielder-Civil, who is awaiting trial for charges stemming from an assault charge - and subsequent efforts to bribe his way out of it - in November.

Amy Winehouse and Blake Fielder-Civil

The bizarre ceremony between Amy Winehouse and Blake Fielder-Civil will reportedly take place at Pentonville Prison this Friday, January 4.

Amy is up for an impressive six Grammy Awards for her smash album, Back to Black. With her talent and the album’s impact, she’ll surely be a winner. Here’s hoping Amy Winehouse makes it to the ceremony to collect!

Amy Winehouse Released on Bail

Amy Winehouse has been set free on bail following her arrest in connection with an investigation into perverting the course of justice.

She was arrested and taken into custody earlier this week for questioning in the case, which stems from the involvement of her husband, Blake Fielder-Civil.

Scotland Yard, which does not name suspects until after they are charged with a crime, stated: “A 24-year-old woman has been bailed to return to an East London police station on a date in early March pending further inquiries.”

Amy Winehouse was arrested Tuesday in East London.

The Back to Black singer was taken in custody this week for questioning in connection with an investigation into perverting the course of justice.

Amy Winehouse’s husband, Blake Fielder-Civil, is currently remanded in custody on charges of attempting to pervert the course of justice in relation to an assault case that had been pending against him and one other man.

Blake Fielder-Civil, 25, and Michael Brown are accused of assaulting James King, the landlord of Macbeths public house in Hoxton, East London, on June 20.

It is alleged that they conspired to pervert justice by offering King a significant amount of money to withdraw his allegation and leave England.

Amy Winehouse Arrested in London

Reports say Amy Winehouse has been arrested in the UK in connection with an alleged plan to derail a criminal case against her husband, Blake Fielder-Civil.

“A 24-year-old woman has been arrested by appointment at an East London police station,” the police said, without mentioning Amy Winehouse by name.

“[The woman] is currently in custody. The arrest was in connection with an investigation into perverting the course of justice.”

Amy Wine Housed

Amy Winehouse is in police custody, but has not been charged.

Winehouse’s U.S. rep said: “I can confirm that she did go in voluntarily to be interviewed and was placed under arrest, as is common practice in the U.K., before being questioned.”

The arrest relates to a witness tampering charge for Blake Fielder-Civil, 25, who is accused of assaulting a barman in June. He is in jail awaiting trial.

As is British custom, police do not publicly name the people at the time they are arrested, and only do so if they are later charged with a crime.

Winehouse was forced to give fingerprints and a saliva swab to police, as any person arrested is required to give both DNA and fingerprints.

The rep denied a News of the World report stated that Amy Winehouse and Blake Fielder-Civil have a suicide pact if both are put behind bars.

Amy Winehouse is up for six Grammy Awards for her hit album, Back to Black, but has struggled personally since Fielder-Civil was arrested last month.
