Carrie Underwood
She truly is, and this video sums up all that is great about the rising country star. “All-American Girl” is the new single off Carrie’s album Carnival Ride.
Underwood wears many hats - quite literally - in this video, dressing up as a nurse, flight attendant, policewoman, soldier, news anchor, waitress, astronaut and even a football player. It’s a fun music video and a very sweet song.
Our personal favorite moment is the shoulder shrug she makes regarding the truck she smashed up in the video for her hit, “Before He Cheats.”
Beyonce, Rihanna, Carrie Underwood and the Foo Fighters are among those scheduled to perform at the 2008 Grammy Awards ceremony.
Reports say Beyonce may perform with the legendary Tina Turner, while the Foo Fighters will perform in conjunction with the My Grammy Moment contest - where one winning instrumentalist will perform with Dave Grohl’s group.

Beyonce is ready to heat up the Grammy Awards.
The 50th Annual Grammy Awards will be held on February 10 at Los Angeles’ Staples Center, free of interference from the striking writers.
The union announced earlier this week that while the strike continues, its members will not picket outside the awards venue.
No word on whether Amy Winehouse will make it.

Carrie Underwood will hit the road next month on her very first headlining tour. The country star and former American Idol champ’s “Carnival Ride Tour” is set to kick off February 18, with the first of 30-plus stops in Wilkes-Barre, Pa.
“I’m so excited to be hitting the road and doing the full show of my music that I have always dreamt of doing,” Carrie Underwood said Monday.
“I have been so fortunate to learn from so many other great artists while touring with them, and they have inspired me in so many ways. They have helped me to get to this stage of my first real headline shows, and now I finally feel ready. I can’t wait to travel throughout the U.S. and Canada, and see all my fans.”

Carrie Underwood’s opening act will be fellow Grammy nominee, Josh Turner. Tickets for their first round of tour dates go on sale Saturday.
The Carnival Ride singer is doing double touring duty this winter, as she’s also set to co-headline several shows with new dad-to-be Keith Urban, starting January 31. Follow the above link for a full list of Carrie’s tour dates.

Carrie Underwood’s Some Hearts was the top country album of 2007, according to Billboard, and her follow-up, Carnival Ride, may follow suit.
Carrie’s new single from Carnival Ride, “All-American Girl,” was co-written by Carrie herself along with Nashville songwriters Kelley Lovelace and Ashley Gorley.
As Underwood, 24, tells Dial-Global, each of the track’s three writers put some of their own history into “All-American Girl.”
“I think everybody kind of put their own viewpoints on it, and for me it was being the last of three girls,” she says of the second single from Carnival Ride.

Carrie Underwood is the youngest of three daughters.
“I was my parents’ last-ditch effort at having a boy … not that there’s anything wrong with having girls, but I know that they probably would’ve liked to have switched things up a little bit and had a little boy.”
Some Hearts, her debut album released in 2005, was the year’s top seller, having sold at least six million copies to date. Carnival Ride, released in October of this year, has already given Carrie another two million in U.S. sales alone.
Carrie Underwood is keeping busy after Christmas, as the fourth season American Idol winner is slated to perform live, in New York City’s Times Square, on New Year’s Eve as part of Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve 2008.
Her tour with Keith Urban begins January 31 in Connecticut.
