Today’s Video of the Day is “Teardrops on My Guitar” from Taylor Swift (lyrics). The young country star has created a crossover hit with this one, as the song (sometimes remixed slightly) is played on many mainstream pop stations.
The music video also stars Tyler Hilton, a singer-songwriter and actor of One Tree Hill fame. But the true star of this video, of course, is the lovely Taylor Swift. She’s a great singer and this is a cool video if you haven’t seen it …

Taylor Swift runs into fans all the time.
Recently, though, one ran into her in a different sense. The literal sense.
Swift’s car was recently run into by another car… but then the fan asked the 18-year-old star musician for her autograph, in a weird place.
“Yeah, somebody hit my car and then asked me to sign a broken piece of my taillight,” said Swift, according to Canadian news site Canoe.ca.
“Then it was crazy,” Swift said. “Five minutes later this other woman saw me on the side of the road and decided that she wanted to get an autograph for her daughter. So she pulled over to get my autograph and then somebody hit her car. It was quite the experience.”
On the topic of cars, Taylor Swift recently donated hers - a pink “jacked-up” Chevy pick-up given her by her label for her birthday last month - to Victory Junction, a charity assisting children with terminal diseases.
“They have camps all over the country for kids who are sick,” says Swift, whose self-titled debut album, Taylor Swift, is a bona fide smash.
“It’s one week each year that some they forget they’re sick and just have a blast and hang out with other people who they can relate to. They look forward to it, and I love that cause.”
Country sensation Taylor Swift has made music history books again. With the 17-year-old’s current hit, “Our Song,” atop the charts this week, she’s become the youngest artist ever to single-handedly write a No. 1 country hit.
It all started as a song Taylor Swift wrote during her freshman year of high school for my ninth grade talent show, the singer revealed in an interview with AOL.
“I was dating a guy, and we didn’t have a song. So I wrote us one, and I played it at the show,” Swift said. “Months later, people would come up to me and say, ‘I loved that song that you played.’ And then they’d start singing lines of it back to me. They’d only heard it once, so I thought, ‘There must be something here!’”

Taylor Swift turns 18 Thursday, but is already an old pro at making history.
When her self-titled, smash hit debut album, Taylor Swift, surpassed the million mark in sales (it later passed 2 million), she became the first female solo artist to write or co-write every song on a platinum-selling debut.
In fact, when Taylor Swift joked, “This is the definitely the highlight of my Senior year,” after winning the CMA’s coveted Horizon Award, she didn’t know what the rest of the year would have in store for her. She had quite the 2007.
Last week, Swift learned about her album reaching double platinum status just hours before receiving a Grammy nomination for Best New Artist.
